A newly refurbished room at King’s Building House on the University of Edinburgh’s King’s Buildings Campus has been named in honour of pioneering civil engineer and alumna Molly Fergusson.

The refurbishment has transformed the space into a refreshed and welcoming environment for teaching, study, and collaboration. The newly named Molly Fergusson Room recognises Fergusson’s achievements as the first woman to graduate with honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Edinburgh in 1936 and the first female Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
